Welcome to the home of the Second City Green Party

The Second City Green Party is an official local affiliate of the Illinois Green Party.

We encompass the community areas of Logan Square, Lincoln Park, Hermosa, Humboldt Park, Garfield Park, West Town, Near North Side, and parts of the Near West Side and the Loop (roughly Madison to Belmont and Lake Michigan to Cicero).

We're currently concentrating our organizing and political efforts along the CTA Blue Line corridor.

Purpose:

  1. Promote the four key values of the Green Party:
    1. Ecological Sustainability
    2. Social and Economic Justice
    3. Grassroots Democracy
    4. Non-Violence
  2. Grow and promote a second viable political party in the city of Chicago.
    1. Recruit and run candidates for local, state-wide, and federal office.
    2. Develop and engage a strong base of volunteers, community members, community organizers, and party members.
    3. Educate the greater Chicago community about political engagement and the electoral process.
    4. Develop and sustain relationships with community organizations and local businesses.
