The ILGP Spring Membership Meeting and State Convention will be held Friday through Sunday, March 28-30, at Bradley University in Peoria.
On the agenda are keynote speeches by congressional candidates, planning and choosing of delegates for the July GPUS convention in Chicago, and possible choosing of a U.S. Senate candidate, as well as the usual presentations by the ILGP standing committees (Platform, Bylaws, Government & Elections, etc.), with proposals for Membership approval. The Friday evening social and entertainment event will be held at the Rhythm Kitchen Music Café. Saturday night's fundraising dinner at Barracks Cater Inn will be a "Poverty Meal" featuring three soup selections and whole-grain breads. The after-dinner program promises a silent auction and a talent show presenting skits, comedy, songs, etc. from the various locals.

Former Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney won Tuesday's Green Party Primary with 57% of the vote.
The ILGP is running a fundraising drive to get our monthly sustaining donations up to $2000. A primary goal of the drive is to achieve sufficient funding to open a Chicago Office by March of this year.

In the February 5th Primary Election in Illinois, election officials were required to offer Green Party Ballots for the first time
in Illinois State history. While Election Judges are required to act as impartial and nonpartisan facilitators, the Illinois
Green Party received over 70 complaints from voters across the state related to difficulties experienced either in
obtaining the Green Party Ballot or perceived bias.

On September 1st, ILGP local from around cook country came together
and approved the interim bylaws of the Cook County Green Party. This
is an important step in bringing together ILGP locals in the Chicago
area.
